Established in 2021, Wabori House is a private tattoo studio by Eli Ferguson, dedicated to Japanese style tattooing.

Having lived and worked in Japan, Eli gained invaluable learnings of a culture that is as complex as it is beautiful, not only in tattooing but also in regards to the Japanese way of life. He wanted to bring a small piece of this to the Sunshine Coast.

Eli’s aim is to cultivate a community on the Sunshine Coast who can appreciate and wear large scale classic Japanese tattoos or ‘horimono’.

Wabori House is a private tattoo studio dedicated to Japanese style tattooing. The studio is a ‘tiny house’ on wheels and was custom designed with a Japanese feel.

Sitting for the day? Please bring lunch. There are no shops within walking distance but we have an outdoor area for lunch and breaks.

Tattooer Eli Ferguson (Hori Iirai 彫偉雷) built Wabori House in 2021, but he has been in the industry for a decade. His speciality is large-scale Japanese tattoos, custom designed to fit the wearer.

The private atmosphere in the beautiful Sunshine Coast hinterland allows Eli to focus on producing the highest quality tattoos. We do not accept walk ins. Please make a booking here.

Eli has lived and worked in Japan. He studied under Irezumi Master Ichi Hatano in Tokyo. This dedication earned Eli the Traditional Japanese Tattooist name of 彫偉雷 ‘HORI IIRAI’ - a title given to him by Ichi San.

Eli has spent the last 10+ years working in bustling tattoo studios across Australia and Japan including Seventh Circle Studio, Foundry Tattoo, Melbourne Tattoo Co. and Ichi Tattoo Tokyo to name a few.
